ESSENTIAL CHECKS / UNDERTAKINGS
- Check your smoke and CO alarms are all present and in working order,
- Bleed the radiators (if needed),
- Check the stopcock is working,
- Check the window frames and doors are sealed without cracks,
- Check for poor ventilated areas which can cause condensation and black mould,
- Use draft excluders under doorways and around letterboxes if needed and
- Away from the property for more then a few days during the winter? Run the heating at a low temperature to protect from frozen pipes
ADVISABLE CHECKS / UNDERTAKINGS
- Look to see if there any missing roof tiles that need replacing, particularly after high winds. If left, this can cause leaking and interior damp and at worst injure somebody if they fall,
- Check external pipes are insulated and protected from being frozen,
- Look at gutters and drains to check they are clear of leaves and debris,
- Check there are no leaks when it’s raining in the guttering joints,
- Clear garden of leaves, trim back hedges and prune trees,
- Check any external lights are working and
- Put away any outside furniture
If any of these the above courses a maintenance issue, please let us know as soon as possible so they can be rectified.
